About The CVCWCA

The Central Virginia Civil War Collectors Association  (CVCWCA) is an organization of Civil War collectors, relic hunters, history buffs, and antique military enthusiasts.  The club now meets on the 4th Tuesday of every month (except December) at 7:15 p.m. at American Legion Post 244, located at 2522 Indale Rd in Glen Allen, Virginia.  Activities include presentations related to Civil War artifacts and history, guest speakers, and light refreshments.  A “Best Dug Relic of the Month” competition and award is one of many meeting highlights.  The CVCWCA sponsors occasional field trips to battlefields and museums, and also sponsors artifact displays at history related events in and around the Richmond, Virginia area.

The Central Virginia Civil War Collector’s Association, (formerly the Central Virginia Relic Hunters Association), was organized to promote the study and preservation of American history, and to identify and preserve historical artifacts and sites.  Organized in Richmond in 1980 with 29 charter members, our membership now totals around 100.  We are always striving to enlist new members who desire to share our common bonds.

Charter Members of the CVRHA were David Batalo, Phil Bell, Mike Bessellieu, Robert Blackwell, Robert Burnham, Mark Carl, Eddie Collins, Doug Deckner, Bruce Deem, Wayne Diehl, Jerry Duggan, John Duggan, Richard Duggan, John Dulick, Barry Jett, Tommy Johnson, Bruce Leftwich, Dennis Madison, Tom Major, Billy McKinley, Sterling Neblett, Ronnie O’Connell, Harry Phelps, Kenny Pickle, Lloyd Pugh, Steve Sharpe, Dale Snair, Marvin Wilson, and Robert Winningham.

The Central Virginia Civil War Collectors Association co-hosts the very successful “Capital of the Confederacy Civil War Show” with Mike Kent & Assoc. LLC.  This annual event is considered one of the best Civil War shows in the Country and is held at the Richmond Raceway Complex, 600 East Laburnum Ave., in Richmond, VA.  The 2016 show will be held Nov.12th and 13th. This is the 2nd weekend in November.
