REMEMBERING SAMUEL h. WHITE
It is with sincere regret that we note the passing of former club member, local relic hunter, and dealer Sam White. Sam was killed on February 18 while disarming a Civil War shell. Sam was a loving and devoted husband and father who will be missed by not only his family, but all of his friends and colleagues. His love of Civil War history cannot be measured. He loved what he did and he did what he loved. He died endeavoring to turn a dangerous object into something for the rest of us to safely enjoy. May he be the last casualty of the War. Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to Sam’s family.
At the Fredericksburg Civil War Show on March 8, there was a very touching memorial to Sam. Thanks go out to the Family, the Fredericksburg Relic Hunters Association, and the Central Virginia Civil War Collectors Association for this remembrance.
